My family is looking forward for a short getaway every summer. Though rainy season officially begins, we took advantage of the long weekend. This year, my sister found San Rafael River Adventure. This resort is located in Bulacan, about 2 hours away from Manila.
After I got all the details I called SRRA to make a reservation. Luckily, my siblings’ requested date is available. We deposited 50% of the full amount to secure our reservation. We received the confirmation within the day.
How did we get there? We opted to commute as the resort is near in Metro Manila. We rode at Baliwag Transit at Cubao. Bus leaves every 10 minutes or as soon it is full of passengers. We left Manila by 6 AM. Thankfully, it was a sunny day! 🙂
We arrived in Baliuag, Bulacan by 7:30 AM. From San Augustine Church, there are tricycle terminals going to any parts of Baliuag including San Rafael River Adventure. You can opt to ride a jeep with Baliwag Loob sign. Though it is recommendable to rent a tricycle as SRRA will be 400 meters away from the main road. Renting of tricycle ranges from Php 150 to 200. We split to 2 tricycles, we were charged Php 150 for 2 passengers and Php 180 for 3 passengers. It was a 30-minute ride from Baliuag proper to Brgy. Talacsan where SRRA is located.
If you will use a private vehicle, make sure that your tires are ready to be muddy . The road to SRRA is not constructed yet.
Where did we stay? After waiting at the reception area, we checked-in by 8:30 AM. As included on our day tour, we stayed in a kubo cottage. It can fit 5-6 people. Cottage has a table, electric fan, light bulb and a power socket.
Beside our cottage is the restroom and shower area. Day tour starts at 7AM to 6PM. Don’t forget to bring a copy of your booking confirmation. 🙂
They also have a bigger cottage to accommodate bigger groups. SRRA is ideal for company outings and team buildings.
San Rafael River Adventure is also known of their glass houses for overnight stay.
Since we cannot stay on this beautiful glass house, we took the opportunity to have pictures outside 😀
You can also choose to go on glamping (glamorous camping) which is popular now for millennials.
SRRA have this “Glamping with a Twist”. It is camping in a floating boat. This is just beside the floating pool.
Here are more details about SRRA accommodation packages,
Day tour package includes the entrance fee. Other inclusion is the infinity pool starting from 2 to 12 feet.
Floating pool is also accessible. It’s like a big pool beside the river. This pool is deeper than the infinity pool. Life vest is required when using this amenity.
Day tour also entitles 1 hour use of paddle boat or kayak.
To enjoy more, you can try these activities too,
- ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle)
- Banana Boat
- Boating
- Horse Back Riding
- Jetskie
- Kuboraft
- Wake Boarding
Picture taking is free everywhere! 🙂
San Rafael River Adventure resort is a big garden too!
Bringing own food is allowed. There is no corkage fee. My siblings and I shared the expenses for all the food we brought. You can also order meals from SRRA staff.
After a day of relaxation, it’s time to say goodbye to this wonderful place. We are grateful to have a beautiful weather and spending quality time with our family.
